A studio visit, tour, and conversation with Venezuelan-born, Miami-based artist Loriel Beltran.
To coincide with his first solo show with Lehmann Maupin in NYC, Loriel Beltrán invites us to his studio for a behind-the-scenes tour and conversation. The Venezuelan-born, Miami-based artist is known for his layered and labor-intensive abstract canvases. He’ll reveal works and discuss his process, which involves pouring shades of paint into custom molds over periods of months or years, before slicing in to sculpt and reveal layers and colors. Beltran earned his BFA from the New World School for the Arts at MDC. His work has been in exhibitions at Museo de Arte Acarigua-Aruare in Venezuela, Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, and PAMM, Central Fine and Locust Projects in Miami. In partnership with Spring McManus Art Advisory.
